Background
The GREAT Project (Gender Responsive Equitable Agriculture and Tourism), funded by DFAT and managed by Cowater International, aims to increase women’s engagement and promote fairer access to economic benefits in Northern Vietnam’s agriculture and tourism sectors. The project works in close partnership with local authorities, community groups, and private sector actors to improve women’s skills, expand their market opportunities, and enhance their role in decision-making processes.
As part of the GREAT Project, a two-year sub-project titled “Enhancing digital access and applications for the private sector, farmers, and ethnic minority women in Lao Cai and Son La provinces” will be implemented by iViet & STG Alliance.
Position Summary
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for day-to-day operation of the project. Involiving in all project life-cycle activities. These include, but not limited to: planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. The coordinator will serve as a key liaison between project partners, local counterparts, and the projec team.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination & Implementation
- Coordinate the implementation of project activities with local partners, government agencies, and community stakeholders in projected locations (Lao Cai and Sơn La)
- Monitor progress against the project workplan and budget, identifying and resolving issues as they arise.
- Support the organization of workshops, trainings, study tours, and field visits.
- Contribute to the development of a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework and activities
- Liason with local counterparts for MOU signing and co-implementation
- Provide technical support to line staff and montior their performance
- Report writing and presentation with donor upon request.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders at the provincial, district, and commune levels.
- Facilitate regular meetings with implementing partners and stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Represent the project in provincial coordination forums and partner meetings.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)
- Support project officers to collect and compile data from field activities, including stories of change, photos, and reports.
- Contribute to regular monitoring reports and assist with data entry into the MEL system.
- Participate in reflection sessions and support adaptive management of project interventions.
- Administration & Reporting
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.
- Provide logistical and administrative support to project events and field activities.
- Maintain project records, minutes, and documentation in an organized and accessible manner.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science, development studies, gender, rural development, agriculture or related fields.
- At least 4-5 years of relevant experience in project coordination in development programs.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills, especially working with ethnic minority communities and women.
- Familiarity with the local context of Northern Vietnam.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good report-writing skills in Vietnamese and basic English.
Preferred:
- Advanced practitioner of AI and/or digital tools
- Experience working in donor-funded programs (e.g., DFAT, USAID, UN).
- Knowledge of gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, or inclusive market systems.
- Ability to speak an ethnic minority language is a plus.
